Sculpt Your Dream Curves Naturally

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a comprehensive dual-benefit procedure. Unlike simple augmentation, a BBL first removes unwanted fat from "problem areas" (such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs) via Liposuction and transfers it to the buttocks.
This process does not just add volume; it contours the entire lower body to create a harmonious waist-to-hip ratio. Because it utilizes your own natural tissue, it eliminates the risks associated with synthetic implants while addressing common concerns like "hip dips" and flat contours.

A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a procedure that uses your own fat to enhance and reshape your buttocks. Unlike implants, BBL combines liposuction and fat transfer to deliver natural-looking curves while sculpting areas like the waist, abdomen, or thighs.
The 3-Step Process:
We use liposuction to remove fat from areas like the abdomen, flanks, back, or thighs.
The extracted fat is processed in a closed sterile system. We separate healthy fat cells from tumescent fluid and oil to ensure only the most viable cells are used for grafting.
The purified fat is carefully injected into specific subcutaneous layers of the buttocks. We focus on filling "hip dips," projecting the central glute, and rounding the hips to achieve your specific aesthetic goal.
Not sure if a BBL is right for you? Take this quick assessment to understand the criteria our surgeons look for.
A BBL requires raw material. If you are very lean, you might need to gain weight first or consider other augmentation methods.
BBL is a contouring procedure, not a weight loss surgery. Large weight fluctuations later can alter your results.
You must stop smoking for at least 3 months prior to surgery. Nicotine constricts blood vessels, which kills the newly transferred fat cells.
This is critical. Sitting on the graft too early can destroy the results.
| Comparison Point | Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) | Buttock Implants |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Your own fat. No risk of allergic reaction or rejection. | Silicone implants. Foreign material surgically inserted. |
| Body Contouring | Dual benefit. Includes liposuction to sculpt the waist, back, or thighs ("snatching" the waist). | Volume only. Adds size to the buttock but does not address the waistline or surrounding fat. |
| Look & Feel | 100% natural. The fat integrates with your tissue, moves with you, and is soft to the touch. | Firmer. Can feel harder to the touch and may look less natural in certain movements. |
| Hip Dips | Corrects hip dips. Fat can be molded to fill hollows on the sides of the hips. | Limited correction. Implants are centrally placed and cannot effectively fill lateral hip dips. |
| Invasiveness | Minimally invasive. Small incisions (3-4mm) for the cannula. Minimal scarring. | Surgical. Requires a larger incision (usually in the gluteal crease) to place the solid implant. |
| Longevity | Permanent. Once the fat establishes a blood supply (usually 3-6 months), it stays forever (subject to natural aging/weight change). | Maintenance required. Implants may shift or need replacement after 10-15 years. |

Your results depend entirely on how you treat the fat during recovery.

Yes. While your body will naturally absorb about 20% of the fat immediately after surgery, the remaining fat cells that establish a blood supply are permanent. They will grow and shrink with your weight, just like normal fat.
6 weeks. To ensure the transferred fat cells survive, you must avoid cutting off their blood supply via pressure. We recommend a BBL pillow for short periods after 2 weeks, but normal sitting should wait until week 6.
Scarring is minimal. The incisions for the liposuction cannula are only a few millimeters wide (about the size of a ballpoint pen tip). They usually fade to become barely noticeable.
At Avané Plastic Surgery, we strictly adhere to the worldwide safety standard of subcutaneous injection only. We never inject into the muscle. This significantly reduces risk. Meet our expert surgeon, Dr. Shaban, and learn about their safety protocols.
This depends on your anatomy. During your consultation, we assess your donor sites. If you are very slim, we may discuss "Skinny BBL" options or combining multiple donor sites to achieve your goals.
